• Masahide Ooka joined the Bernstein Tokyo office in 2004 as a senior portfolio manager. Prior to joining Bernstein, he was a Japanese Equities Product Manager and Head of Product Marketing Department as a Director for Schroder Investment Management (Japan) Ltd. Previously he was a Senior Portfolio Manager for Japanese Equities for IBJ NW Asset Management Co., Ltd.

  Katsuaki Ogata was named Chief Investment Officer of Japan Value Equities in 2002. In this role, he helped initiate and build the firm’s first Japan-based value investment team. Prior to that, Ogata served as a research analyst mainly covering Japanese consumer cyclicals and consumer staples stocks. Prior to joining the firm in 1996, he worked as a senior manager for financial planning and marketing at PepsiCo Japan. Previously, Ogata was a consultant at Bain & Company (Japan) and a senior field engineer at Schlumberger. He earned a BS from Sophia University in Tokyo and an MBA from Harvard University. • Atsushi Horikawa was appointed Director of Research of Japan Value Equities in 2013 (title changed to Portfolio Manager from March 2016). He served as codirector of research of Japan Value Equities from 2012 to 2013. Horikawa joined the firm in 2000 as a research analyst, and was named senior research analyst in 2002. His research experience includes coverage of financials, industrial commodities, capital equipment, consumer cyclicals and consumer staples. Previously, Horikawa worked at Sakura Bank as a business-planning executive. He earned a BA in law from the University of Tokyo and an MBA from Harvard University, and is a Chartered Member of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan. Location: Tokyo
